In yet another sign of a gradual return to normal, the live circus is coming back to town.
Details of the event, hosted by the local Wonderbolt Circus and iFLY aerial arts, were announced this morning.
Billed as one of the first major festivals to get back to live shows since the beginning of the pandemic, the 4th annual St. John’s International Circusfest is now set from September 23 to 26 in St. John’s.
City audiences will be treated to the best that the circus world has to offer, with performances by some of the biggest names from stages around the world, coming from troupes such as Cirque de Soleil and Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey.
It’s all due to the hard work of the Wonderbolt circus and staff, founded by Beni Malone.

With aerialist Lauren Woodruff and hula-hoop specialist Susan Jarvis strutting their stuff in the background, Malone says the performers cannot wait to get back to live, in-person performances.
Shows and workshops will take place throughout the city at the Arts and Culture Centre, The Rooms, the Murray Premises, Sheraton Hotel, and the Alt Hotel, among other outdoor spaces.
