The fraud case for the former CEO of Baffin Fisheries has again been postponed, this time due to a change in lawyers.
51-year-old Garth Reid has been charged with criminal breach of trust and fraud over $5,000.
Baffin Fisheries has already won the civil lawsuit, which found Reid used more than half a million dollars of the company’s money to build himself a mansion and guest house in Winterton, Trinity Bay, where he’s from.

In provincial court this morning, it was revealed that Reid’s case is being transferred to another defence lawyer, who will need time to get up to speed on the case.
But further complicating the matter is the fact that his new lawyer, Peter Ralph, will also be tied up with one of two public inquiries into the fall.
The case has now been delayed until mid-November, when Garth Reid is once again expected to enter pleas to the charges.
