The town of Gander has lifted its fire ban.
Residents are permitted to use backyard fire pits with a source of water nearby.
The ban initially went into effect due to hot weather conditions drying out vegetation, increasing the risk of wildfires in the town.
However, as weather conditions have mostly continued to be warm and dry, Gander Fire Rescue is advising caution when in forested land. Open fires requiring a Permit to Burn are prohibited and some industrial activities may be restricted.
