Air Canada has introduced a new health and safety policy making it mandatory for all Air Canada employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19—and to report their vaccination status as of October 30.
The airline is also making full vaccination a condition of employment for any person hired by the company.
Testing will not be offered as an alternative under the mandatory vaccination policy. Air Canada says will it will fulfill its duties to accommodate employees who for valid reasons cannot be vaccinated, failure to be fully vaccinated by October 30 “will have consequences up to and including unpaid leave or termination.”
Air Canada is one of a growing number of airlines that are adopting similar policies for employees.
