Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is reporting progress in setting up electric vehicle charging stations across the island, and it’s “just the beginning” according to President and CEO Jennifer Williams.
She says five new EV stations are now operating in the province.
They are located in Goobies, Deer Lake, Stephenville, Rocky Harbour and Port aux Basques.
That brings to 14 the number of charging stations across the island, something Williams says is already making a difference.
She says since the first charging station came online in Holyrood in December of 2020, use of the network has already displaced 14 and a half tonnes of Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
