The federal election is well underway and voters interested in a mail-in ballot are being encouraged to register.
Media Relations with Elections Canada Francoise Enguard says in-person voting will be available for both the advance polls and election day September 20, with all the appropriate safety measures in place.
Voters will notice a plexiglass barrier between them and the poll worker, as well as the masking of Elections Canada workers and hand sanitizing stations.
In the meantime, Elections Canada has increased its capacity to handle vote by mail ballots for those who want them, however, she recommends people register for their vote by mail ballots as early as possible.
You can apply on the Elections Canada website, and a kit will be sent to you.
She’s also encouraging people to mail their ballots in as soon as they know for which candidate they’re voting.
