A 26-year-old man is facing charges following a dramatic incident in Gander Bay on Tuesday evening.
RCMP say the accused, Jordan Butt of Aspen Cove, intentionally rammed a police cruiser parked at an off-duty officer’s home in Carmanville.
Witnesses reported the incident around 6:00 Tuesday evening. RCMP from Gander, Twillingate, and Glovertown were all called to the scene.
The suspect’s truck was located abandoned on the main highway in Wing’s Point, Gander Bay a short time later.
Butt was located at a local business and was taken into custody without further incident.
Butt, who was held for court, is facing charges of mischief over $5,000, dangerous driving, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
