Only three people have come forward to run in the municipal election in Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove.
Two people are offering themselves for Mayor—Denis Hickey and Ashley Politi, but just one person is offering himself for council—incumbent Brian Roche.
Deputy Mayor James Cadigan says a second call for nominations will likely be announced to attract more candidates for council.
In the meantime, it’s expected that the vote for mayor will go ahead and the existing council members will stay on until a quorum can be reached.
