The NL T’Railway Association is joining with the RCMP in spreading the message about ATV and dirt bike safety on this long holiday weekend.
Association spokesperson Rick Noseworthy says while more operators are wearing helmets, tragedies still occur.
He says many of the accidents they’ve seen in recent months involved people who were wearing helmets, but they weren’t worn properly, meaning they either came off, or didn’t offer full protection.
“If you’re going to put it on, put it on right,” says Noseworthy.
