An MHA in central Newfoundland is warning of what he sees as a dangerous situation on the Buchans Highway. Chris Tibbs, Opposition MHA for Grand Falls-Windsor-Buchans, says there have been three moose-vehicle accidents on the road in the past ten days, something which he attributes to excessive growth of brush.
Tibbs says there are overhanging trees, the presence of many logging trucks, and increased activity from the Marathon gold mine.
He went to the department and to the Premier to impress on them the severity of the situation. Tibbs says three moose accidents in ten days means it is too serious of an issue to put on the list for consideration somewhere down the line.
