A significant search effort is underway in Labrador for two men reported overdue from a fishing trip.
RCMP have confirmed the search is ongoing off Mary’s Harbour on the southeast coast of the Big Land.
The men were reported missing around 9:30 Friday night after failing to return as scheduled.
They left the community in their 28-foot vessel around 6 a.m. Friday. Police say it was equipped with a VHF radio and two outboard motors.
RCMP say search efforts throughout the night were unsuccessful but the operation is continuing by air and on the water.
They say the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax is engaged in the search, with assistance from the Canadian Coast Guard.
