A submarine that garnered lots of attention in downtown St. John’s over the past couple of days has departed through the narrows.
HMCS Windsor recently participated in Exercise CUTLASS Fury, an annual Canadian-led multinational maritime exercise off the east coast.
Exercises can include submarine tracking, mine disposal, and counter-terrorism activities.
The Department of National Defence says the submarine crew was in St. John’s for what’s being described as “some well-deserved rest and relaxation.”
DND says the participation of the submarine crew was a key component in achieving high-level tactical scenarios with the Royal Canadian Navy and allied ships.
