Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting 14 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today, with all of them in the Central Health region.
There are also 18 new presumptive positive cases.
Seven of the new confirmed cases are under the age of 20, and all 14 are under investigation.
There are seven new recoveries; three in Eastern Health, one in Central and three in the Labrador-Grenfell region, leaving 116 active cases and two people in hospital.
The investigation continues into the source of clusters in Central, Western and Labrador-Grenfell Health.
There are 71 cases connected to the Central cluster.
Potential Exposure Sites
Six potential exposure sites have been identified in Western and Central Health. They are:
- Xheight Zone, 35 Catalina Drive, Gander on Saturday, September 11 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- McDonalds, 320 Airport Boulevard, Gander on Saturday, September 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This does not apply to people who only used the drive-thru.
- The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 45, 7 Water Street, Birchy Head on Saturday, September 18 from 10:00 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
- Lomond River Lodge, Bonne Bay Road, Birchy Head on Saturday, September 18 from 11:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
- The Old Loft Restaurant, 8 Water Street, Bonne Bay on Sunday, September 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Bonne Bay Health Centre cafeteria, 212 Main Street, Norris Point on Tuesday, September 21 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Updated Vaccination Rates
Eighty percent of the eligible population in the province is now fully vaccinated, while 88 percent have received one dose.
As of Sept. 24: 80% of the eligible population fully vaccinated and 88.2% with at least one dose.
