The Town of CBS will unveil a new pilot project today that will help to manage stormwater run-off while beautifying the area.
Conception Bay South is unveiling a new community Rain Garden at Manuels River.
A rain garden is a type of drainage basin that is designed to collect stormwater run-off.
It contains materials that drain easily, and hardy native plants that help to collect rain and slowly release it back into the ground.
The town will also provide a summary of its Urban Forest Expansion and Green Infrastructure Initiative this afternoon at 4:00 at the Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre.
The projects were completed as part of the TD Green Space Grant and were made possible by partnerships with the Arbor Day Foundation and TD Bank Group.
