There’s a storm surge warning out for the Avalon and Bonavista Peninsulas. Waves six to nine metre high will lash north and east facing shorelines from Cappahayden to Trinity Bay all of tomorrow.
The conditions, which will see large waves for a period of 12 hours from about 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., will produce higher-than-normal water levels and possibly cause coastal flooding.
Meteorologist Tiffany Cheeks says people along the shoreline should be on the lookout for worsening conditions.
She says the heaviest rain will come along the southern Avalon with a total of close to 45 mm.
