A woman from Brigus South is taking home the $1-million prize from the Big 10 Scratch ‘N Win game.

Josephine Hawkins won the big bucks after purchasing a ticket at O’Brien’s Clover Farm in Cape Broyle.

She says she told her husband the night she found out, but the next day, he thought he had dreamt the whole thing. However, it was no dream. Hawkins will celebrate the win with her children and grandchildren, and is planning on buying a new luxury vehicle, upgrading her home, and purchasing a new all-terrain wheelchair for her husband.

Once pandemic restrictions ease, she’s looking forward to visiting family in Vancouver and having a girls’ trip to Las Vegas.
