The Newfoundland Growlers shook off 590 days of rust as Gordie Green scored his first Growlers goal 15 seconds in in a 6-3 victory over the expansion Trois-Rivières Lions.
The dogs took a 3-0 lead into the dressing room after the first and never looked back. Bobby McMann, the game’s first star, also scored his first goal as a Growler.
