Today’s update on the province’s latest COVID numbers has been affected by the cyber attack and IT issues being experienced within the health care system.
The Department of Health says as a result, some information was not available for today’s advisory.
There are two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 being reported in the province today.
One is a person under the age of 20 in the Eastern Health region, while the other is a man in his 50’s in the Western Health region.
As of Saturday, there were 10 new recoveries with 91 active cases according to the available numbers.
One person is in hospital.
The department those who need a COVID-19 vaccine, or a COVID test should still be able to get them.
If a test is positive Public Health will call the person as soon as the test results are received from the lab.
People may experience a delay in receiving negative test results.
Public Health officials have issued a flight advisory as the result of a recent COVID investigation.
All passengers on board Air Canada Flight AC7542 that departed Toronto on October 27th and arrived in Deer Lake on October 28th should arrange for COVID testing.
Meanwhile, those who visited the Deer Lake Irving Big Stop Restaurant in Deer Lake on Thursday October 28th between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. are also being asked to call 811 to arrange for COVID testing.
