The Town of Portugal Covd-St. Philip’s is going circular.
The town is taking steps, along with the help of the College of the North Atlantic and Planeet Consulting, towards building a strong, healthy and resilient municipality through zero waste and circularity.
The project’s goal is to learn more about the so-called circular services already available in the town and make recommendations on what other services can be made available.
🟠 We're going circular! 🟠
This week we're focusing on the "Repair" and "Reuse" “R” services, which help prevent and reduce waste, connect people, and move PCSP towards Circularity.

Founder and CEO of Planeet Consulting, Viviana Ramirez-Luna, says the concept of circularity is becoming more commonplace. Not only does it include the practice of reducing, reusing, and recycling, it also includes repair, return and rot.
She says like the cycles of nature where vegetation, animal waste and animals themselves return to the earth, the idea of circularity finds ways to keep the things we buy, and no longer need, in use. She says that includes purchasing items that last longer and giving them second life, and repairing things instead of simply throwing them away.
The idea of circularity can also generate economic opportunities through used furniture or clothing stores and repair shops according to Ramirez-Luna.
