The Association for New Canadians says the outpouring of support for a group of Afghan refugees who arrived in the province earlier this month has been so overwhelming, they’re asking people to hold off on some items for the time being.
One-hundred and sixteen refugees from Afghanistan arrived in the province on October 26th. The ANC says the response to a call for donations to help the families who are in a two-week quarantine has been amazing.
They’re asking people to hold off on clothing donations for now. In the meantime, the ANC’s Donations Centre is still open Monday, Wednesday and Friday to receive baby, personal care and small household items, but cannot accept clothing for a few weeks as staff and volunteers concentrate on distributing the donations received.
