A Canadian Forces member from this province was honoured at an NHL game Thursday night.

Lieutenant Colonel Melanie Lake of Churchill Falls dropped the puck ahead of the Senators versus Golden Knights game in Ottawa as part of Canadian Forces Appreciation Night.

Lake, the Commanding Officer of the 2 Combat Engineer Regiment, was most recently deployed to the Ukraine to assist security forces, and previously in Afghanistan.

She was accompanied to the game by her family, including her daughter Avi.
