The Newfoundland Growlers kicked off a three-game homestand with a 3-2 shootout win over the Worcester Railers on Friday night.
St. John’s native Nathan Noel notched his first goal as a Growler, with fellow Newfoundlander Zach O’Brien earning the assist.
Netminder Evan Cormier made 29 saves in regulation and overtime, before securing the victory in the shootout.
The Growlers and Railers run it back tonight at the CBS Arena.
