Glovertown RCMP are clarifying a recent complaint received, after information was shared on social media that suggests police weren’t taking the matter seriously.
Police received a complaint on November 5th involving the theft of a wallet from the back seat of a vehicle parked in Glovertown.
The owner reported to police that there was $30 in the wallet when it was taken.
In the meantime, information began circulating in the community indicating that the amount of money stolen was much larger, and that police dismissed the complaint.
RCMP subsequently learned that a Go Fund Me account has been created in response.
RCMP say a file has been opened on the report of the stolen wallet, and it is being handled and prioritized based on the volume and seriousness of other crimes reported.
