The Salvation Army Newfoundland and Labrador has officially launched its 2021 Christmas Kettle campaign.
The Kettle is officially on, and this year the Salvation Army hopes the kettle will boil over with donations.
Divisional Secretary of Public Relations, Major Rene Loveless says the target for the St. John’s area has been set at $275,000, and with kettles in 30 other communities across the province, they’ve set a total provincial goal of $800,000 to be raised by Christmas Eve.
The campaign was kicked off with a series of donations from business partners, totaling $10,000.
In addition to the traditional means of donating cash, there are also tap options by which people can pay with debit or credit, choosing between $5, $10, and $20 donations.
