A new book about a “one of a kind” writer, humourist and satirist is out on book shelves just in time for Christmas.
The title, Ray Guy; Portrait of a Rebel reflects Guy’s political astuteness according to author, journalist and friend, Ron Crocker.
He says Guy was critical at a time under Premier Smallwood in the late 60s and early 70s, when it was more difficult to be critical of political power in Newfoundland. He says Guy always had an unusual and side-door point of view on matters, so Crocker believes, calling Guy a rebel is reasonable.
A book launch is scheduled for tomorrow at the Johnson GEO Centre in St. John’s at 2:00 p.m.
