The Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority has launched a new strategic plan as it rebrands in the face of significant challenges presented in the last two years.

The strategy, released on Friday, outlines a plan to become a leading regional airport in Canada. Some of those plans include changes to the look and feel of the terminal, the launch of a new website and the introduction of a new low-cost carrier.

Edmonton-based Flair Airlines to Deer Lake will offer access to a new market for people in western and southwestern Ontario.

The ultra low-cost carrier will begin twice-weekly service to Deer Lake from Kitchener-Waterloo starting June 3rd, 2022.
