Canadian Blood Services are looking to fill 18,000 appointments this holiday season.
There is an immediate need across the country for blood and plasma donations. In Newfoundland and Labrador alone, they are looking to fill 317 appointments by January 4th.
With the number of statutory holidays in December, opportunities are limited to give blood, making the need even greater.
They’re calling for anyone between the ages of 17 and 35 to sign up to give blood, and to also join the Canadian Blood Services Stem Cell Registry.
