The RCMP are checking into a possible discovery under the ice of the Churchill River.
Police say a man who was checking the ice, spotted something unusual and took a picture of it not knowing what it could be.
He later felt it might be something of interest to police and made them aware, but couldn’t remember precisely where he made the discovery.
Community members are in the vicinity of the river trying to find the exact location where the picture was taken, while police analyse the photo to determine what it might be.
The investigation continues into the suspicious disappearance of 47-year-old Todd Penney of Happy Valley-Goose Bay who has been missing since September 18th.
