A St. John’s man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a woman in the city’s downtown.
Police were called to a house on Cookstown Road shortly before 6 a.m. this morning.
Inside they found the 42-year-old victim who had sustained serious injuries, along with the 20-year-old man.
Despite efforts of paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder.
He’s due to appear in provincial court Tuesday morning.
