It’s a Christmas miracle as one little girl on the Bonavista Peninsula received the top-billing item on her list – a Newfoundland Pony.
The Hobbs family, who own a couple of horses, were talking about getting a Newfoundland pony to start their own pony sanctuary, however they were having trouble finding one.
That’s when their daughter, Ryia, overheard and assured them that Santa would come through, bringing them a white Newfoundland Pony.
Thanks to the hard work of her parents and a west coast vet, that little girl woke up Christmas morning to see Santa Claus himself walking down the street, leading Sou’ West Nancy, a 22-year-old white Newfoundland Pony.
Ryia’s mother, Danielle, says while the pony walked to their home with Santa, her daughter had dreamed up another type of introduction.
She says Ryia told her that Santa was going to give the pony some magic dust to help her fly with his reindeer.

The two have become fast friends and all of the Hobbs family have been enjoying having Nancy around.
Danielle says Ryia always wants to feed her in the morning, and bring her treats before she goes to bed.
She says the two are really fond of each other.
