Residents of Spaniard’s Bay will no longer have to travel to Harbour Grace to pick up their mail starting tomorrow.
Canada Post and the town reached an agreement just before Christmas that will allow community mailboxes to be set up in the parking lot of the Spaniard’s Bay Town Office.
Residents were forced to make the drive to Harbour Grace and face long line-ups during the pre-Christmas rush after the local postal outlet suddenly shut down in early December.
The new service will be up and running on Tuesday, January 4th. Any mail left uncollected at the Harbour Grace Post Office will be collected and delivered to the new mailbox.
