Eastern Health has set up a new COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Reid Centre in Mount Pearl, but most appointments have already been snatched up.

The clinic is for persons 30 and older. However, there are currently no appointments listed as being available online. Anyone seeking an appointment is asked to either check another site near them, or to check back regularly for more appointments that may open up.

A toll free number (1-833-951-3884) has also been set up for people to call, although due to high call volumes many are experiencing difficulty in getting through.

It’s for persons 30 years and older with appointments available today through January 14.

To meet the 22-week requirement between the second dose and the booster dose, only those who received their second dose on or before August 2 will qualify. Moderna vaccine only will be offered.

Seniors 70 and over can now avail of a number of appointments at clinics throughout the region which can be booked online or by phone at 1-833-951-3884 (toll free).

About a thousand people went through the Waterford Valley High School clinic yesterday.
