The City of St. John’s has announced changes as a result of the province moving to Alert Level 4.
As of Tuesday, numerous recreation programs and services have been delayed, including youth and family programs, all afterschool and pre-school programs and all adult and seniors programs.
As well, all water and dryland fitness programs, swimming lessons, and racquetball court rentals are also on hold.
An update will be provided on January 18th.
Recreational swimming at city pools will go ahead, and the Winter Activity Centre located at North Bank Lodge in Pippy Park remains open, weather permitting.
Further information on the changes is available via email — recreation@stjohns.ca — or by calling 576-8499/576-8631.
Meanwhile, The Loop at Bannerman Park will remain open with reduced maximum capacity from 80 persons to 40 persons per 50-minute skating session.
All other public health measures remain in place, including keeping two metres of physical distance from those not close contacts.
At City Hall, the building counter will be closed for in-person planning and development applications and permits, with all applications processed by email. Applications can be sent to permits@stjohns.ca, or call 576-8565.
Humane Services will be open by appointment only. If you have an emergency or animal control concern, contact Access St. John’s at 311, 754-2489 (CITY) or email access@stjohns.ca.
