A power outage affecting Memorial University’s data centre temporarily knocked out the university’s servers and IT systems on Friday.
Power was later restored to the data centre, enabling a number of critical services, including Brightspace, email and Memorial’s website to be brought back online.
The university says the outage was caused by a major electrical issue and was not as the result of a cyber attack.
Work is underway to prioritize teaching and learning systems before classes resume on Monday, January 10th.
Memorial says updates will be provided as they become available.
