There’s a happy ending in the search for a puppy that went missing on New Year’s eve.

Maggie, a 4-month-old Beagle, went missing in Mount Pearl. A search effort, organized online, quickly grew into an extensive effort with many people searching for the lost dog.

Owner Roger Skiffington says the dog was found Sunday night outside a residence in Cowan Heights, about nine days after she went missing.

He says Maggie is doing well but has lost weight. They will be following up with a vet about her health.

Skiffington credits the work of thousands of volunteers in helping bring the dog home.

When he heard a Facebook page was being created to help with the search, he never dreamed it would reach over 4,000 people. He says it’s those volunteers that made this a happy story.
