A 67-year-old man is dead following an ATV accident earlier this week near Terrenceville on the Burin Peninsula.

RCMP were called shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, after an ATV left the trail to avoid an icy section, and went down over a steep embankment.

The driver, who police say was not wearing a helmet, was pinned beneath the overturned machine.

He had already succumbed at the scene.

The investigation continues.
