The province has registered another COVID-related death.

A woman in her 70’s in the Western Health region is the province’s 24th death connected to the pandemic.

The number of people in hospital has risen to eight, including three people in critical care.

Meanwhile, 475 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 are being reported in the province today, with 404 since yesterday’s update and 71 from testing previously sent out of province.

350 cases are in the Eastern Health region, 26 in Central Health, 39 in Western Health and 51 in Labrador-Grenfell Health.

Nine cases were the result of testing through a private lab.

There were 1,029 new recoveries announced, bringing the total number of active cases in the province to 5,574.
