The Better Business Bureau is warning of yet another scam making the rounds on social media, this time with scammers impersonating a legitimate company.
According to Kristen Matthews, marketing and communications specialist with the BBB, scammers are saying they’re hiring on behalf of Amway LLC on local Facebook groups, offering work-from-home opportunities.
She says Amway is a legitimate company, and the scammers are using the name to gain the trust of job seekers.
Matthews says they see those sorts of scams a lot.
She says they either see companies getting impersonated, or random companies “coming out of the woodwork.”
She says scammers like to use real companies because they have a client base already, and have trust behind their name.
