The up and down yo-yo of a winter continues with no end in sight. It’s tough to find on parts of the island, especially in the south and the east, where conditions are conducive to outdoor winter activities such as skating on a glassy pond.
Rainy today and tonight on the eastern half of the island, snowy tomorrow for most, freezing cold on the weekend everywhere and then more snow coming on Sunday for some including the Avalon.
Meteorologist Rodney Barney says it has been an inconsistent winter to say the least.
Barney says cold spells and mild spells are not uncommon but by the time we get into late January and early February we usually settle on a pattern, at least for a while. But not this year.
