A St. John’s man accused of killing a woman in late December made a virtual court appearance this morning.
20-year-old David Quirke is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Rayna Dove.
It was expected a date for the preliminary inquiry might be set today, but the defence is awaiting further disclosure of the Crown’s evidence.
Police and paramedics were called to a house on Cookstown Road early on the morning of December 27th.
Inside they found Quirke and a woman who had reportedly been stabbed, and later died at the scene.
Quirke was arrested and remains in custody at the Bishop’s Falls correctional centre, pending his next court date on February 3rd.
