The province is providing some clarification around the number of COVID-19 cases currently in the hospital system.

On Thursday, the province reported 20 hospitalizations.

Health Minister John Haggie explains that is the number of people admitted to hospital because of COVID-19, or who have a COVID-related complication.

However, Haggie explains that there are others in hospital, who have tested positive for COVID, who were primarily admitted for other reasons.

Numbers provided by the Department of Health reveal that as of Thursday the combined number of people in hospital both with and because of COVID-19 is 60, five of whom are in ICU.
