Hydro officials are monitoring water levels on one of the province’s largest lakes.
Grand Falls-Windsor-Buchans MHA Chris TIbbs provided an update on the worrying situation at Red Indian Lake on his Facebook page.
Hydro officials are monitoring the situation and are carefully controlling water levels in the area.
Mild temperatures and heavy rainfall have contributed to higher-than-normal water levels on the massive lake which feeds the Exploits River and other major rivers and tributaries in the central region.
Legislation has been introduced in the House of Assembly to officially change the name of the lake to Beothuk Lake.
