There has been an armed robbery at a Bell Island convenience store.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday, a masked man entered Jim Yicks’ Store on Fleming Street with weapon in hand and demanding money. He took a cash register as he ran from the store on foot. The cash register was located a short distance away, damaged and empty.

The man is about 5 feet 4 inches, Caucasian, and was wearing a dark-coloured coat and pants. Police have learned that the suspect passed by someone just prior to entering the store and they are looking to speak to that person.

Anyone with information surrounding the incident is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
