A teenage aviator who paid a visit to this province as part of her historic round-the-world journey, has completed her amazing trip, landing in Belgium two months later than originally planned.
Zara Rutherford spend some time in Happy Valley-Goose Bay in late August in her attempt to become the youngest woman to fly solo around the world in her ultra light Shark aircraft.
Her trip took longer than anticipated following a month-long weather delay in Alaska and another 41 days on the ground in Russia.
Rutherford’s father Sam is also a pilot and survived a plane crash that claimed the life of his co-pilot near Makkovik in 2019.
