The Teachers’ Union is questioning what it considers to be a double standard in the reopening of schools to students next week.
Union President Trent Langdon understands the worry of some parents in sending their children back to school on Tuesday at such an uncertain time.
He says you can’t get 30 adults together for a meeting in tight quarters, but children in grades K-6, many of whom are not fully vaccinated, and are not the best at wearing masks or social distancing, are expected to return to school.
He calls that a double standard.
Langdon says he wasn’t allowed to enter the vet clinic when he recently brought his cat in, but students, teachers and staff will be gathering in schools next week.
