A former NHL’er from this province is putting on the jersey once again, this time as a member of the 2022 Men’s Masters Canadian National Ball Hockey Team.
Terry Ryan was drafted 8th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 1995, before hanging up the skates thanks in large part to a nagging ankle injury.
After stepping off the ice, the Mount Pearl native has found continued success in the sport of ball hockey, winning multiple championships.
Now, Ryan is gearing up for the 2022 World Championships, scheduled for September in the Czech Republic.
In an Instagram post, Ryan said he was “humbled and excited” for the opportunity, adding that competing for your country is the biggest honour an athlete can achieve.
