Newfoundland and Labrador is staying in Alert Level 4 for at least another week.
The decision was announced in today’s COVID-19 advisory, which also included news of the province’s 31st death, a man in his 60s in the Western Health region.
The number of people in hospital with the virus has risen to 21, with five of those people in critical condition.
The province is reporting 349 new confirmed cases of COVID in the past 24 hours, as well as 335 new recoveries; 252 in the Eastern Health region, 24 in the Central Health region, 48 in the Western Health region and 11 in the Labrador-Grenfell region.
There are also officially 2,669 active cases of COVID-19 in the province; 1,844 in Eastern Health, 385 in Central Health, 127 in Labrador-Grenfell Health and 313 in the Western Health region.
Public Health says the province will remain in a modified Alert Level 4 at least until Jan. 31st, even as students and public sector workers prepare to return to schools and offices tomorrow.
Isolation and testing requirements for people who have COVID-19, as well as their close contacts, as also been revised again.
