Those who cut fire wood for sale are being reminded to get a commercial cutting permit or timber purchase licence required to legally access Crown timber.
The advisory comes after the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture received several reports about social media posts advertising firewood for sale by people who don’t have the required permits.
Anyone who plans to sell firewood can apply for a commercial cutting permit or timber purchase licence by contacting their local Forest Management Office.
