A 13-year-old boy has been arrested and charged following two separate robberies in the capital city overnight.
RNC say a male suspect entered a gas station on Portugal Cove Road around 12:40 this morning. The suspect had a weapon and demanded cigarettes from the clerk, before running from the scene with other merchandise that he managed to grab.
As police were investigating, they received a call about another robbery that occurred a short time earlier at a second gas station on nearby Newfoundland Drive. Again, a male suspect demanded cigarettes, uttered threats, and ran from the scene with a quantity of merchandise.
The 13-year-old suspect was located at a home a short distance away and is now facing charges of robbery and failure to comply with a court order in connection with both incidents.
He was held for an appearance in youth court.
