Two men are facing numerous counts of robbery with a weapon after two frightening incidents in metro late last night which included a carjacking.
Just before midnight, the duo forced a passenger from a vehicle on the parking lot of a gas station in the west end of St. John’s, then stole the vehicle and left the area.
A short time later, RNC responded to another robbery, this one in Mount Pearl where an employee of a business had been assaulted by two men who used a weapon and demanded cash. The men fled from the scene in a stolen vehicle which was later found by officers. Police arrested one of the suspects a short distance from the vehicle and soon after, a police dog helped locate the second suspect.
The two, aged 29 and 35, face numerous charges including robbery and assault with a firearm, theft of a motor vehicle and disguise with intent. They were held at the Lockup to appear in court today.
